Governing Board Members

Gauri Bhasin ( Founder, Chairperson )

Gauri Bhasin has done her B.Sc and B.Ed from Delhi University. She has taught as a teacher and also as an English trainer in a company.

Her passion for teaching coupled with her intense desire to help the have-nots, made her start SEED Foundation. She strongly believes in the all encompassing nature of quality education, the only tool with which we can help others to create a better and meaningful life for themselves.

She has multitasked in different fields such as teaching, administration, resource management, event participation, teacher’s training, extra-curricular activities etc., to make Seed foundation what it is today.

Sulabha Pathak ( Co-founder, Vice Chairperson )

Sulabha Pathak is a scientist and research associate at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. She received her PhD in Immunology from Erasmus Universityin the Netherlands and has pursued research at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard Medical School. She was also awarded the Homi Bhabha fellowship for 2006–2008. As a scientist, she has been featured in ‘Lilavati’s Daughters,’ a collection of biographical essays on influential women scientists, particularly those from India, and in Magdolna Hargittai’s ‘Reflections Challenges, and Breaking Boundaries.’ Both these volumes aimed to increase the visibility of women in science to encourage the participation of more women and girls in the field.

Her cross-cultural work experience has exposed her to various pedagogical systems and educational settings, and she has taught, mentored, and supervised graduate, post-graduate, and doctoral students both in India and abroad. Her book ‘Immunology Essential and Fundamental’ is published here and abroad, and is now in its 3rd edition. Overall, she has over 40 years of experience in teaching, including teaching low-income students and vulnerable populations. Besides this, she is a member of the Jaago India movement, which encourages electoral turnout, and the Powai citizen’s group, Hiranandani Residents’ Association. In addition, she is a partner in Shabdda Communication, a company focusing on scientific communication.

Shiv Bhasin (Co-founder, Advisory Board)

Shiv Bhasin is a Pharmaceutical professional with three decades of experience in India & South East Asia. He is the former CEO of Abbott Pharmaceuticals and was posted in Indonesia. He has worked in companies like GSK, IPCA and Solvay in India holding responsible managerial positions. He currently is a Pharmaceutical consultant and advisor.

D. G. Rajan

D. G. Rajan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was earlier a Senior Partner at Lovelock & Lewes, Chairman of Direct Taxation Committee of Southern India Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a Member of the Board of Governor of Doon School. Presently, he is the Advisor and Management Consultant to many domestic and international groups.

Priyanka K. Davda

She holds a Degree in Law from SVKM College of Law, Mumbai and is enrolled with Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa. She has been supervising and voluntary teaching “LAMP POST KIDS” from past 12 years.

Rajeshwar Kapur

Ex serviceman Indian Navy & retired Manager Air India. He has been Chairman & secretary of many housing societies and area federations. Social Worker of the Area.

Swati Nalawade

She is B.E. (ECT) and MBA (HR) and is currently working as a Consultant.
